TopDrawerSoccer Women's DI Top 25: Oct. 8
Much has been made of Stanford's continued success this season.
But a point can be made that they aren't the hottest team in the nation.
That honor goes to SEC side Vanderbilt, which extended its winning streak to 13 thanks to two more wins in conference play last week.
The Commodores bested a pair of Top 25 opponents in the last two games. After edging Mississippi State in a Thursday night clash, they beat Tennessee on Sunday, winning 3-1 away from home. Vanderbilt moved into the No. 10 spot, now boasting a 13-1 record at this stage of the season. Another huge test looms this week against No. 7 South Carolina.
Another scorching hot team, Georgetown is now the No. 5 team after winning two more Big East matches. The Hoyas cruised past Creighton on Thursday, winning 7-1. In a tight encounter back on the Hilltop on Sunday, the Hoyas defeated Villanova by a 1-0 score.
